2017 Trip

The impact of Trip One:

· Eye tests carried out on all 350 pupils.
· Professional eye tests provided free of charge for those children identified at the initial screen. (Eye tests are a luxury these families could not afford).
· Glasses provided for children presenting with eyesight difficiences.
· Full assessments carried out on pupils falling behind in school.
· Bespoke programmes of work devised for children presenting with additional needs.
· Physiotherapy provided for one child with a disability to aim to improve mobility.
· Demonstration lessons provided for teachers.
· Two after school training sessions provided for the teachers

o How children learn,
o How to cater for children with additional needs,
o How to utilise new resources,
o Quality first teaching.

· Money provided to create a dining area for the children in Dago
· Reading glasses provided for the Mammas working at the project.
· Sun glasses for all the children in the Dagoretti Bridging school.
· Vast amount of educational resources provided to the Bridging School and Mutuini Educational Centre in Dagoretti.
· Face painting, Tin Can Alley and Hoopla activities provided at the school fayre celebrating the national holiday.
· Pre school resources purchased for Dagoretti.
· Sports equipment including parachutes provided for two schools and Maria Romero Children’s home in Hurlingham, Dagoretti.
· A years supply of balloons to treat the children with.

Reading books introduced to the bridging school in Dagoretti and additional books for the Mutuinini school purchased.
