A new team has been formed to return to Nairobi and work once again with the two schools and the children at Maria Romero children’s home in Nairobi, Kenya.
The team is made up of three Headteachers, Kathleen McKeating, Anne Marie Nield, Clare Campbell, a Deputy Headteacher, Michelle De Carteret and two High Level Teaching Assistants, Justine Taylor and Bernadette Davies.
Each member of the team is aiming to deliver around 20 demonstration lessons and provide new resources and experiences for the children. We will be following up on the progress of the pupils where bespoke plans were put in place during our last trip and set new targets for these children.
Accompanying us this year is Mrs Clare Campbell who offers a specialism in Art and Art Therapy. Therefore, there will be lots of artwork opportunities for the children being introduced this year. Last year we were totally shocked to find out that children didn’t even know what paint was.
We also aim to spend two days with the girls at the children’s home and do bead craft work and baking with them.
